Checked means we check identity and right to work and require an enhanced DBS certificate before a carer can use the platform, and carers record an online interview about their experience and approach to care. We do not check qualifications, training or references. You choose your carer, and remain responsible for checking their skills, training and documents suit your needs. See what we check, and what you check.

“Mario was an amusing and affectionate companion - he for example looked out my father's favourite music, engaged him in conversation and made sure he was as comfortable as possible.”

I am very happy to be given the opportunity to highly recommend Mario da Assuncao N. Mario was the primary carer for my father over a period of almost two years. My father was aged 100, had suffered a fall and, though mentally fully alert, was physically incapacitated. The care was in my father's own home where Mario…

“Rosma enriches the life of those she cares for and my mothers happy time with her is a testament to that.”

Rosma is a truly exceptional carer. She has looked after 91 year old mother, in a live-in capacity for over 8 months. During that time, Rosma has been totally reliable and extremely dilligent, bringing her vast wealth of experience, sensitivity, good humour and intellience to the job of caring for a vunerable…

“She was kind, thoughtful, patient. She talked to my mum and tried to engage her in interesting conversation with her”

My sister, Judith, arranged for Ruth to come and look after our mother for 10 days while our regular carer went on holiday. Well, I wish we could have kept her. But, as my mother has dementia we felt that she would find it difficult to get used to a new person. Ruth was absolutely lovely. Extremely experienced…

The Checks

How Do We Check
Private Carers?

ID and right to work

We check identity online with Yoti, a digital identity service, and right to work in the UK with a Home Office share code or passport.

Enhanced DBS Certificate

We ask carers on the platform to hold an accepted criminal-record check (Enhanced DBS issued within the last 2 years, DBS Update Service, Scottish PVG or Access NI), with renewal or rechecks depending on the accepted route.

Online Interview

Every carer records an online interview, in their own time, so we can understand their experience, communication style and approach to care. This is not a clinical assessment or a guarantee of suitability. Check a carer’s skills, experience and training with them before booking.

PrimeCarers is an introductory platform and does not provide, manage, supervise or clinically assess care.

Clients remain responsible for checking carer documentation, interviewing carers, checking suitability for their specific needs, and agreeing the scope of care directly with the carer.
