Checked means we check identity and right to work and require an enhanced DBS certificate before a carer can use the platform, and carers record an online interview about their experience and approach to care. We do not check qualifications, training or references. You choose your carer, and remain responsible for checking their skills, training and documents suit your needs. See what we check, and what you check.

“She paid so much care, attention, and loving duty towards him, that she made his life extra special in his last few years”

Marites (Tess) is a gem among carers, she looked after my father for almost 3 years until his death, during which she paid so much care, attention, and loving duty towards him, that she made his life extra special in his last few years. My dad suffered from Alzheimer’s, and following my mother‘s death he needed care…

“He stayed with her throughout the pandemic, refusing to visit his own family, who lived nearby, to reduce the risk of infection.”

Jaison was a live in carer for my sister for 3 years before she passed away last September. He stayed with her throughout the pandemic, refusing to visit his own family, who lived nearby, to reduce the risk of infection. He always kept the family informed and kept meticulous notes. He had an excellent relationship…

“He trusted her completely and died holding her hand.”

Charmaine was an excellent carer. She was firm when necessary and helped my Dad maintain his independence until he was no longer able to do anything when she then did it all for him. He trusted her completely and died holding her hand. I also trusted her completely and we only ever had problems with other carers when…

The Checks

How Do We Check
Private Carers?

ID and right to work

We check identity online with Yoti, a digital identity service, and right to work in the UK with a Home Office share code or passport.

Enhanced DBS Certificate

We ask carers on the platform to hold an accepted criminal-record check (Enhanced DBS issued within the last 2 years, DBS Update Service, Scottish PVG or Access NI), with renewal or rechecks depending on the accepted route.

Online Interview

Every carer records an online interview, in their own time, so we can understand their experience, communication style and approach to care. This is not a clinical assessment or a guarantee of suitability. Check a carer’s skills, experience and training with them before booking.

PrimeCarers is an introductory platform and does not provide, manage, supervise or clinically assess care.

Clients remain responsible for checking carer documentation, interviewing carers, checking suitability for their specific needs, and agreeing the scope of care directly with the carer.
