Yes. Arrange a conversation with the carer before the wedding so your loved one can get to know them and you can discuss the plan. This can be a video call, or an in-person meeting where practical.
Explain what helps your loved one feel settled, their usual routine and anything they find difficult. Ask prospective carers about their dementia care experience and agree a plan for breaks, unfamiliar surroundings and any changes to the day.
Ideally, get in touch at least 4–6 weeks before the wedding to allow time to discuss your needs and meet a suitable carer. You can still enquire at shorter notice; availability will need to be checked.
